Spring Break 2013

With Jenna being so small and us trying to prevent her from getting sick, we decided to spend Spring Break at home this year.  Brax had a few things to finish up on his Bear for Cub Scouts so we decided to make that our task.  Branden took the whole week off work so we could hang out as a family and have fun.  We decided to go for a hike and picnic on one of the days.  We headed over to the cinders on the nature preserve.  Branden took Jenna in the baby backpack and Brax and I just hiked.  Jenna was just two months old and I hadn't worked out a lot yet so it wore me out but it was fun anyway!  We then headed to Stout Park for lunch and Brax could play on the playground.  It was a nice day and I'm glad we got to do it.

Seagull Take Over

One day back in March, during Spring Break, we were sitting at the computer when we heard screaming outside so we decided to go and check it out.  We find all the kids running through the neighborhood and tons of seagulls flying over head.  All of us parents headed out to check it out.  A few of us got some bread out for the kids to throw which made even more seagulls show up.  It was crazy, but the kids loved it.  They hung out for about half an hour but it got us all out visiting and laughing as we watched the kids!

Crazy Hair Day 2013

We love Dr. Seuss week at school.  Brax and I have fun dressing him up and putting his hats on to match his clothing.  This year Brax wanted lightening bolts in his hair so I did my best.  He loved it and it turned out pretty well!

Growing Too Fast

It's amazing how quickly babies grow.  It seems like I just had Jenna, but she is now three months old.  They just keep getting bigger and bigger.  It's fun to watch her learn and grow.  She is now grabbing onto things, smiling, giggling, rolling from front to back, and kicking!  She is also still very observant.  She seems to look clear down into your soul when she looks at you.  We love her so much and are happy to have our baby girl as part of our family.

These two truly love each other!

Basketball

Braxten's baseball season started the day Jenna was born.  Luckily he had a bye that day.  His first official game was the week after.  It was a hard season for attendance since we were trying to keep Jenna in.  Branden also had a lot of different scouting events that took place on Saturdays which is when his games were.  We took turns attending, so I didn't get a lot of pictures, but I tried.  It is getting more fun to watch Brax in his different sporting events.  He's more competitive and tries a lot harder.  He didn't make a lot of baskets over the season, but he turned into a good passer.  I can't wait to continue watching him improve.

Pinewood Derby 2013

Getting ready for the Pinewood Derby this year was a little crazy! I was called as Cub Scout Committee Chair the week after having Jenna.  I think it all turned out pretty well though!  Braxten got his car done with the help of both of us, but he did a lot of the work by himself!  His car did quite well in the races!  He took fifth over all and second in Bears by 6 thousandths of a second.  I'm so proud of him and the young man he is turning in to!

Baby's First Trip to Grandma's

On the weekend of February 3rd, we each had a brother blessing their baby.  One was in Venice and one in Glenwood both at 10 am.  We decided to stay at my parent's house since it'd only be us and them there.  The car ride went well.  We went up on the 2nd after Braxy's basketball game.  We got up there in time for Brax to attend our nephew, Luke's birthday party at the bowling alley.  We took turns going into visit while the other sat in the car with Jenna.  I fed her while Branden went in.  They also had cake and ice cream at their house that night.  On Sunday, we were able to divide up and made it to both blessings and all or part of both dinners.  It was nice to get out of our house and have a break.  It was also nice to be able to visit with family.  It helped to rejuvenate me.  We weren't there long, but it was fun to see everyone and for our siblings to meet our new daughter.

Grandma, Jayden and Jenna
While there I asked my sister-in-law to take a few pictures of Jenna so I could do announcements or just to have them.  She does a great job and I'm thankful that she was willing to help me out!  I'd had a photo shoot the week before, but she knows more about photography than I do.  These are a few I took.
