Baptism, Basketball, and Busy Weekends

On January 5th our garage door opener broke. A couple bushings broke. The quote to fix it was $124. It definitely made me stress. We called a place in St. George to see how much the part was and it was $40. Friday morning we decided to let Branden attempt to fix it. It took a while and we learned you should read ahead, but he got it fixed and just in time too. We'd ordered 1/4 of a beef to be butchered for us before Christmas and it was ready that day. I got a call at noon and we had to be there by 5. The butcher shop is in Richfield. We made it with 15 minutes to spare.

We got the beef and decided to leave it in the car overnight because it was so cold there. My sister, Shanelle, was headed to our house the next day so we asked her to bring it home. It worked out great for us. Friday night we hung out in Glenwood for a while and then two of the cousins didn't want to leave Braxy's side so they headed to Venice with us for a sleep over. We got up Saturday morning and got ready for the day. We took the kids to the school house to roller skate for a while before we had to take them home. We had a family party that afternoon and left early to head to Santaquin.

Our niece, Hannah was baptized on Saturday, January 7th. It started at 3 pm. She was the only one from her ward getting baptized, but still had quite a few people there for her to celebrate. The whole meeting was very nice. Following the baptism we headed to their house to have dinner. We ate and visited for a little while and then headed home. It took us just over 3 hours to get home, but that included a stop in Cedar to fuel up the car. We were so glad we were able to visit her.

Basketball has started for Brax. His first game was actually the weekend of Hannah's baptism, but decided he wanted to be there for his cousin. He did great in the first game he played in though. He made a few shots and tried hard, he even got his glasses knocked off his face, but handled it well. He has a game every weekend until the end of February, so we'll most likely stick around until then. We also had two of his cousins here with us so that made it even more fun.

This past weekend we got to babysit our nieces Brinley and Kambree. Keldon, their brother, had a baseball tournament in Las Vegas so their parents asked if they could stay here. They got here Friday night and left Monday afternoon. We had a lot of fun with the girls while they were here. Brax and Brin were sure sad to say good bye to each other. I'm sure glad they are good friends.

Have I told you how much I love my new camera? I LOVE IT!
