Great Blessings

I know I posted Monday, but I just had a few things to post today. First of all, I want to say how wonderful it's been since I started buying Bountiful Baskets. I'm getting my family to eat a lot more fruits and vegetables. It's even what Branden snacks on. He's lost 10 pound in a month and I'm so proud of him! He's been trying really hard and I need to do that as well. I'm trying to help him any way I can.

Braxten finished soccer this week and I'm so excited about that! He has 4 more t-ball games and 14 days of school left. He is out this week for Kindergarten Testing. He is such an amazing kid. He is usually willing to help out and such a Mommy's Boy. If I'm not going somewhere with Branden, he won't. I'm trying to get them to do a few things together, we'll see if it works out.

I've had a few trials this week, but nothing I can't handle. I donated blood on Thursday. I've donated at least 10 times before and never had a problem. I sat down, ate my cookies, and drank my juice. One of my friends was donating, so I went and talked to her. I was standing for 3-4 minutes when I got light headed and all of a sudden couldn't hear anything. I sat down and we continued visiting. I guess I was really pale. They had me take more treats on my way out and I made it home. I've been sick ever since. Who knows what's going on? Branden had a physical for scouts, so I asked the doctor while we were in there and he said it can last a few days. I hope that it goes away soon! This week is the end of my second series of pills and I can't decide if I'm ready for another test, but ready or not here it comes!

I do have to post about some of the wonderful people I've met here. I want to thank Abbie for inviting me to play softball and always being my friend. She is there to rescue me in Primary and just always have a listening ear. Crystal P. has been great to get to know me. She listens and laughs with me. She's always inviting me to do different things and we're going out this week. I have so many other wonderful friends that this post would go on forever, but I will list their names. Thanks also to Alicia S., Lynette, Lisa H., Megan J., Megan T., Jesse, Susan, Cheryl, Jaylene, and Tasha. All are special for different reasons. I also have a new friend named Julia that also has PCOS and has gotten me to open up far more than I ever expected. I've talked about feelings I didn't know I had and it helped to relieve a lot of pent up feelings. She understands me and lets me know she has been and is still going through the same things. She is amazing and so are all these other wonderful women.

Today was special

Today was a special day. My sister came down to see her "little man" and the amazing family that adopted him. We went to the splash pad in St. George and had a great time! We played, ate lunch, and just visited. Cara and her boyfriend, Kincade got to try Braxten's favorite restaurant (Five Guys Burgers and Fries). It was fun to have them here. We were able to visit and eat all meals together while they were here. They were also able to visit with some friends in the area. It is always fun to see people you love. I am learning more and more things to do here in the St. George area and loving every minute of it. Brax is having fun trying new things as well. Next time the cousins come down, he has plans to take them to the splash pad. I'm including pictures of our fun day! Most of the pictures would've showed up sideways, so I tried to include pictures that you didn't have to tilt your head.

What a Great Day

It seems the saying when it rains, it pours is holding true right now! My windshield wiper broke on the way home after Easter. Today Brax decided to get up at 3:30 so I am exhausted. I slept a little after that, but not much. It was pouring so I decided to run him to the bus stop. He told me I should park on the side of the road the bus stops on, which ended up being a good thing. I shut off my car to wait and not waste gas. After the bus had left, my car wouldn't start. The battery is dead and we knew it was dying, but didn't know how close. I was parked on the downhill side of the road, so I put the car in Neutral and let it roll to our driveway. My neighbor then came and jumped me so I could get it in the garage. Branden is in Richfield, so he's not much help. I"ll have to just wait until he gets back into town. We've just had a lot of bills come at once that were unexpected. Now I need a battery that will cost me $100. What great fun! Luckily, all the automotive shops in the area have the battery on hand. Oh, what a day!

Playing Catch Up

Okay, so I haven't posted anything in like three weeks. Life is catching up and doesn't want to give me a break. Braxten is only 6 and so busy, I guess because that's how we've made it. He got 100% on all of his sight word tests and I am oh so proud of him! He worked hard to get such good scores. He's such a smart kid, got his brain from his dad no doubt. He only has 2 more soccer games and yes, I'm counting down. T-ball has started and it is also on Thursday nights so we run from one game to the other and hopefully make at least one full game and 1/2 of another. Brax played both last week and had fun, but was exhausted that night. He is getting more into both sports and is fun to watch. Last week he scored 2 goals in his soccer game and the week before scored 3. He got a great hit in t-ball and can throw the ball from 3rd to 1st pretty easily. I'm thinking/hoping he got his dad's athletic gene.

Branden has been turkey hunting for the last couple of weeks. He went out here to look and didn't find anything, so he headed to Marysvale. After opening weekend, we found a tick on his shoulder that had taken up residence. I was the lucky one to pull it out and it wasn't pleasant. It kept twisting and wriggling when I'd almost get it out and I'd scream and freak out. Eventually I got it out and it's comfortably residing in a canister of alcohol. I'm keeping it for a little while in case he gets sick so I have both him and the tick. This last weekend we all headed to Richfield and from there Branden went back to Marysvale. He did get a turkey. He hit a tom on Friday night, but they never found it only a little blood. On Saturday, he decided to shoot a jake. He wasn't real impressed with the turkey, but he had a good time and that's all that matters. You ought to hear him tell the story, it's pretty funny!

I have just been running everyone where they need to be pretty much and playing softball. We've played our first couple weeks and actually done okay. I am competitive and get frustrated sometimes, especially when we get clobbered but it's all for fun and I need to relax sometimes. I am having fun and in reality, it doesn't affect my life other than exercise and meeting people. I am grateful for the opportunity to play and have fun! My mom was on One Voice tour and I got to be her personal chauffeur. We took her shopping and even watched the variety show on Monday. It was great to see her and get to know her better! Brax picked where we ate that day, sure enough we ate at Subway! He is so funny! A couple weekends ago we had a lot of family come through the area for baptisms and funerals. It was great to see them even though some circumstances not so great. I love it when people come and stay! I love my home and the area. I'm extremely blessed.

Easter was spent in Glenwood and Venice. Brax got a movie he really wanted and my sister's dog got some of his eggs. We got to see everyone on both sides of the family except for Branden's youngest brother. We colored eggs with both sides of the family. On Saturday we went to the Glenwood town Easter Egg Hunt and then to Grandma Oldroyd's. After grandma's we went to roll eggs with the Cowley's. After that we had lunch at Jeremy's. We had wonderful shishkabobs and smores cooked over the stove. We also watched General Conference as much as possible. Sunday we spent time with family and finished Conference. After watching conference, we headed to Grandma Spencer's for dinner. It was fun to see my cousins also. After that, Branden headed home. Brax and I stayed until Monday because he was out of school. We were in separate vehicles because Branden had come from Pleasant Grove. It was a whirlwind of a trip, but so much fun. On the way home my windshield wiper broke on the driver's side and it was pouring so we made a lot of stops, but miraculously made it home. It was my birthday on the 6th so my parents took me out to lunch before I left. Branden took me out to Red Lobster the next day. Needless to say, I've eaten out enough for a while. We've had a lot of fun over the past few weeks and look forward to new adventures. I sure love all of my family and friends. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

Fun, New Things

It's pretty bad when you can't remember what's been going on so you have to look it up in your phone. I have learned how to play Futsal (indoor soccer). Our ward has a team. I even invested in shin guards and soccer socks. It is a good work out and one day I hope to be good at it. It is fun to learn though. I'm also going to play on a softball team which I'm pretty excited about! A lady in my ward invited me. I don't know how she knew I played, but it'll give me a chance to get to know new people here. Branden and I each took part of our tax return and man did I go on a shopping spree. I'm trying to look more girly. I also went to an open house and bought some necklaces and earrings. Now I'm trying to save up to finish out my ward robe. I was on the committee for the Relief Society Birthday Party so I've been working on that the past few weeks. It was a lot of fun, but I'm sure glad it's over! For our Primary activity we're having a Film Festival and each class was supposed to make a video of a story from the Book of Mormon. I got mine finished this week and I just sit and laugh. If I remember I'll post it on here before I end my rambling. I look forward to seeing everyone's videos. Other than that for me, it's been yard work and playing with the kids than come to our house. According to the neighbors, I may have 2 more kids that want to join our family. I almost forgot, last weekend I went to girl's night. We went to the Pizza and Pasta Factory. It was fun to get to know different ladies. Six of us rode in my neighbor's suburban and it was a blast!

Braxten has started soccer. He had his first game last week and did a great job. I forgot the camera though, so no pictures sorry! We've had a few practices and I'm the Assistant Coach. It's a lot more fun to watch him this year because he's a lot more aggressive and doesn't sit down every few minutes. He'll also start t-ball here in the next 3 weeks. He is growing and learning a lot! He also got 100% on his first two sight word spelling tests. I couldn't be more proud of him!

Branden has been all over the place this month. He went to Salt Lake at the first of the month. He had Scout Camp at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes a couple weekends ago. He also went to Pleasant Grove this past week for meetings. I didn't know he'd travel this much, but it's okay. He gets to learn new things and have fun! He helped with the scouting for food drive yesterday in the cold wind and fixed the sprinkling system.

We've had a few friends come down to see us and it's been a lot of fun to see them! We're so grateful for great friends and family!

A few fun things

Dr. Seuss Week
Brax had Dr. Seuss week at school the first week of the month and we had a lot of fun with it. Monday was Dr. Seuss hat day, Tuesday was crazy sock day for Fox in Socks, and Wednesday was crazy hair day for Thing 1 and Thing 2. We left town Thursday and Friday so he didn't participate in Green day or PJ day. I have included some fun pictures. We bought the green and white hat on Monday and he decided he wanted more, so I made them. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Trip to Wyoming

A new niece was born in January and we hadn't seen her yet and she was getting blessed on March 7th so we decided to head to Casper. It was a fun trip. We stayed in Salt Lake the 1st two night of our trip and then headed out. We stopped in Evanston and saw some friends. We stopped again in Rock Springs, to see some more friends. If you don't know, we lived in Rock Springs for a year and a half. We met some amazing people there and it was great to see them again. We hadn't seen them in almost five years. We stayed in Casper for 2 nights, enjoyed the baby blessing and headed home. It was fun to see amazing people. We drove straight through on the way home. It took us 10 hrs. and 10 mins. with five different stops. I am so glad we went.

Spring Break

This past week and tomorrow are Spring Break for Brax. He goes back on Tuesday and we're both excited! We have gone on some shopping trips and been to the movies twice. I love the cheap theater. It is nice. We've had a lot of fun with the neighbors and even had some friends come down this weekend. Our goal for tomorrow is to go swimming and then life back to normal. Anyway, I think I've put enough on here and really better get to bed.

Last Week is a Blur

I haven't posted anything about last week because I don't really remember much. Brax was out of school Monday and Tuesday with half days the rest of the week due to Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences. I learned he has come a long way in the 2.5 months we've lived here. He's catching up quickly!

Last Tuesday night Branden went ice skating for the 1st time ever. I didn't know he'd never gone before. He said he took some girl out because he started spinning and couldn't stop, then fell down! He said it was a lot of fun even though he hung on the wall a lot. My family used to skate a lot in the winters, so maybe I could talk him into going skating again.

The reason the week has been a blur is because I have been sick, yet again! I have this cough that is killing my throat and I think I'm better then get really sick again. I guess maybe it's supposed to be that way for now. I also have a constant headache. I'm sure it'll go away soon!

We did have a lot of fun Sunday night. Branden's aunt and uncle invited us over for dinner. We ate and they asked Branden a lot of questions about his mission. It was a lot of fun and I learned things I didn't know. We were there for 3 hours. We watched the kids play, talked, and Branden helped his cousin with homework. He loves math, so it was good for him. Anyway, short post, but that's all I have to say for now!
